Omg, I know, I know, it's been such a long time since I last blogged, but, but but! Okay, I arrived in Singapore on Saturday morning... then by Monday or Tuesday night I got sick... =( I'm still coughing now, throat is still very very sore... and head still spins now and then spitting fever into my brain. Alright enough of that...
Guess what! Guess what!! I now own ....
YES!! I know!! I went to Sephora @ ION Orchard, Singapore yesterday on 25th February, thinking whether I should reserve 1, since it's supposed to be launching today on the 26th. But but but the Sales Assistant then told me that they already had some in stock! So I went ahead and purchased it, along with a Stardust in Diamond Dog (now thinking whether to get the other colours too...) , which qualified me to receive the GWP!! I'll show you what it all looks like once I get back to Australia... because I'm now at a internet cafe hahaha... This is officially my first Urban Decay product. Lucky I didn't get the Ammo or the Deluxe Shadow Box, cause I was considering of purchasing them but this Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows is even better!! It costs SGD$88, which converts to around AUD$70ish? Yeah... =) This would sell at AUD$100-200 in ebay! Urban Decay isn't available in Australia... and even if it's available, the price would definitely be double the price it retails in US.
I've been hauling... oh God, yes I have... stock up... everything so much cheaper here than in Australia... hahaha.
What else... let me think... Yes I've been visiting SASA, Watson's, and oh I even did a haul at The Face Shop which qualified me to be a lifetime member now hahaha... I wonder if I should just do a video on my haul... I've never done a video before... let alone a haul video... would you like me to do a video? I could try?
Alright, I best be off... before my internet session is up. Mwahhhhh!!
PS: I was about to purchase Maybelline Magnum Mascara today but didn't . I was shocked to find it's Made in China... Horror Horror!! I thought it's made in USA? Not anymore? Tell me whyyy!! It retails for SGD$18.90

Nor have I swam the widest ocean
I've not touched the sky with my bare hands
They say two roads diverged in a wood
There's too many roads ahead of me I don't quite understand
I do think that life isn't just is
Everything's a haze when there's too many if's
So I pray
For the pieces to come together
For the broken to mend
For the wounds to heal
And no more tears...
^^ Ahh it's nice to write again... it's been awhile since I last wrote anything like it.
My flight is in 8 hours. The heart's pumping fast just trying to remember what it feels like in an airplane, the scent, the rush, the hours...

I'm going to Singapore soon, this Friday night/Saturday morning to be exact. So exciting... It's been awhile since I'm back there, and I used to live there for few years before I moved to Australia. So it'll feel nostalgic once I get there this Saturday morning. Many changes since I was last there, so I can't wait to check out all of these. If any of you are in Singapore, or know where all these new exciting things I should check out or where else I should check out that I might otherwise miss, do let me know ;) comment or email would be fine.
I'm thinking I'll check these out or at least visit them, at least once... and thinking of what to buy already! Hahaha
- Ion at Orchard (I heard it's at Ngee Ann City? So that's Takashimaya, right?)
- Shu Uemura at Vivo (my friend works there, so I must pay a visit hehehe)
- Watsons (for all the Japanese drugstore makeup brands!! Expect a haul!! I'll be eyeing the eyeliners, mascaras, eyeshadow palettes, makeup remover... and maybe brushes?)
- Suntec - Isetan
- Body Shop (not too big of a fan, but prices should be cheaper than here... so I might get some stuff such as Facial Cleanser Brush)
- If anyone know where I can find Silicone Face Scrubber/Sponge
- Some MAC products would be cheaper there too... such as Brush cleanser (but I'm thinking whether to get a Japanese one) (AUD$20, SGD$18), Prep + Prime Face Protect SPF50 PA+++ SGD$58 (Hmm... do I really need one...?????), Blush SGD$35 (AUD$40), Lipsticks SGD$28 (AUD$35), so I'll check it out first, see if I need anything... =]
- Stationery no doubt!! it's stationery heaven there!! stock up, stock up ^^
- Popular, Kinokuniya, etc!
- Hair products, such as hair dye
- Ban mian, bakkwa, durian tarts...
- Chicken porridge
- Melon pan
- MOS Burger
I will be there for 2 weeks, from 20th February till 6th March. I'll try and still keep blogging or updates... and in the meantime, let me know if there's anywhere or anything I should really check out on my stay in Singapore.
Till then , mwaahhhh!!
So, on to number 1... clear skin.
My skin is quite on the acne-prone side, and it used to be pretty bad and now that I finally have clear skin, oh no words can describe it. Hehehe...
2) Watching Movies
I like movies, I just do, I don't read reviews on them, I watch them to judge for myself.
3) I can't believe I'll include this but, Lush
Yes, Lush has creeped up to my "make me happy" list ever since I started using their products about 2-3 months ago. Vanilla in the mist soap makes me happy going in and out of the shower. I also love using the fresh mask, such as Brazened Honey. I just want to keep trying out their products!
4) Playing the piano
I tend to just play impromptu-ly, or just whatever I feel like. If I'm sad, angry, happy, moody or just feeling blue, the piano is the best friend I can always turn to.
Hahaha, I know, not being a cheapskate but don't you just love it, when you just pop in a store, and the sales assistants are so nice they give you samples? Yeah, it makes my day. Or like the other day, when I was just about to watch a movie at a cinema, Maybelline was promoting their new lipstick range and they gave me one for FREE!! My mum and my sisters ended up getting one each too, for free!! ^^
6) Parcels arriving in the mail or letters
Hahahaha, yessss, you know what this means. When you receive unexpected parcels or you're not sure when you're supposed to be receiving them, or even if you do know, I still love getting mails or parcels or letters (personal letters)
7) Plush toys/ stuffed toys/ Plushies
Especially Tatty Teddies, Blue Nose, and Asian plushies... have to be soft too hahaha
8) Our puppy, Rama
As cliche as it might sound, pets do give you some sort of stress relief. Even though Rama gets so naughty at times, he always makes me smile.
9) YouTube videos
This includes anything ranging from makeup gurus, funny music videos, awesome unknown singers, parodies, songs, they make me smile, or laugh or both hahaha
Wait, maybe I should've changed it to simply "internet". Internet makes me both happy and frustrated at times, but majority of the times, internet lets you do things today that people could only dream of centuries ago. Look at us now, contacting random people in facebook, finding old friends, looking up tutorials, companies are even advertising their products through youtube videos and bloggers. Amaazing. Facebook. makeupalley.com is awesome too by the way. so is temptalia and other online websites... and youtube makeup gurus, just to name some on the top of my head: xteener, michellephan, AllThatGlitters21, juicystar07, makeupbytiffanyd, enkore, oxfordjasmine, julieg713, bubzbeauty, kandeejohnson, vaniitydoll, roseannetangrs, beautyQQ, chefcaffy, smerfette aka Mona, allaboutdaniel, the list goes on!!
10) Baskins Robbins Peanut Butter and Chocolate Ice cream
Yes, it makes me happy. The peanut butter in it makes me happy hahaha... and especially in those moments when you don't feel so good, this makes it all better hahaha... somehow.
Alrighty, now I'm supposed to tag 10 people... I'll tag the first 10 who comments ^^ feel free to do one~

Happy Chinese New Year!
This year, may the Tiger inside of you come out and play,
and bring success and luck and prosperity to all.

Anyway, something struck my mind tonight. This will be just bits and pieces here and there, quick review whatnot.
The fact that Lush Vanishing Cream and Eau Roma Water Toner to accompany it have been missing from my daily skincare routine... seems to have its effect. And it is not that great, I must say. This is fascinating! Well, since I completely finished my first tub of VC (Vanishing Cream in short), I've tried different moisturizers, mainly in lotion form, not cream. I've tried: (all items are purchased or obtained by me otherwise stated)
- SkinMD Shielding Lotion (sent to me by company in order for me to test and review it)
- SkinMD Shielding Lotion with SPF15 (as above)
- Neutrogena Oil-Free Fresh Moisture
- Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture SPF15
- Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
- Clinique Clarifying Lotion 2 (Toner)
- Lush Breath of Fresh Air (Toner)
- Lush Enzymion (sample)
=_= yeah, I went crazy with trying out different ones to see how it worked out. I miss Vanishing Cream =( I, for once, actually do miss it. I miss Eau Roma Water and Vanishing Cream combo. I guess my plan on switching to Clinique has totally been succeeded by Lush hahaha...
The thing is, I've started to notice dryness on my cheeks again! I didn't have that problem when using VC.
I find that none of these other moisturisers give me just the right amount of moisture. They seem to lack something and leaves my skin unhappy or slightly sticky.
SkinMD Shielding Lotion is indeed very light and refreshing and absorbs quickly. For the rest of my body I'd say "LOVE", but for my face... I'd prefer VC... why does it have to be so expensive here in Australia... =( that 45g tub is AUD$39.95 ... ='( *My bank account cries! I cry too!*
Clinique Toner Number 2 literally stings... Feels like as though there's too much alcohol in it, and just applying it on my cheeks or on my forehead... my eyes started to water! I didn't even go near my eyes and it sting my eyes! ='( And when I apply the lotion afterwards, it feels rather sticky, and not soothing or calming at all... I don't know. I thought wrong. I thought Clinique skincare would be good for my skin... guess not anymore. I'd never thought Lush would top it. Hahahaha...
Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer with SPF15 is okay during the day. It's good for times I forget to apply sunscreen. But it sort of has the sunscreen scent, which I don't particularly like, and it just applies on my skin effortlessly, but it somehow doesn't seem to do anything. Hmm...
Neutrogena Fresh Moisture may be best on super duper oily skin. When first applied it could feel slightly sticky, but it gets absorbed eventually and it'll not feel sticky anymore. Just matte sorta feel. But it's just ... not quite the right moisturiser for my skin, still.
Wow, Vanishing Cream, you've really made yourself compatible with my face! Hahaha... I shall repurchase you soon, along with Eau Roma Water... I miss you guys!
Ah, how time flies, I must head to bed. Goodnight goodnight...
February 7, 2010
I like: eyeliners hahaha... yes. I've slowly come to appreciate or have familiarise myself in using eyeliners on both top and bottom lines of my eyes. I've also bought my first liquid eyeliner.
I don't like: cockroaches
I want you to know: that what you will be depends on what you do now. Can't change the past, but the future is caused by what's at present, and you make the choice of what to do with it.
I've planned: to travel to Singapore for 2 weeks in 2 weeks time and shopping!!, hit the gym more often, watch out more of what I eat (those hash browns =.= ), and focus on what I really should do in terms of studies.
I want to say to someone special: that people have insecurities, and it is up to you to get controlled by it, or to control it and to not let it drown you. We have our flaws, no one is perfect, but we are much luckier than a lot of people you don't even know of, and I know it gets hard to believe in yourself when things get tough, but just know that there's always someone who cares and we'll get through this.
^^v Have an awesome one!

It is amazing what you find these days, through internet. One thing that really caught my interest today is the fact that... when you think that MAC, Clinique, Estee Lauder, Bobbi Brown, Michael Kors are all different brands, think again. Yes they are different names, but are they different companies? They might be, but there's always the Big Boss.
What about Kiehl's, Shu Uemura, The Body Shop, Lancome, Biotherm, Giorgio Armani, ok the list goes on... are they all different individually standing company? Think again.
The fact is, there are only several, not thousands of corporations/owner of the beauty industry. These are multi-billion dollars corporations that in fact, owns multiple brands. Let's get to it, shall we? (I'll list them in numeric order too, so you can see how many each owns)

Information taken from Estee Lauder Companies and Kiss and Makeup and makeuptalk
Being from the same 'companies' or 'corporation' does not mean they're all made from the same batch or factory or exactly the same. I guess it's sort of like, you're purchasing Jasmine Rice, all says Jasmine Rice but you get not so aromatic, harder texture, drier ones and you get the really nice, soft, aromatic ones. Ok, uhm, hahaha yeah, moving on...
you get Chanel and you get Bourjois. There's Guerlain, and there's Benefit. Or Estee Lauder and Clinique... They all have their own characteristics, and their own price range according to packaging and formula. So depending on which ones you buy, it's always good to compare. Not all high ends brands are that good, not all lower end brands are that bad! And in the end it comes down to money. I trust
Anyway, I hope this is enough said. Please comment below... to just share what you think.
February 3, 2010
Red.. is the colour of this Country Road bag
The photo doesn't do it justice. It is more vibrant, and more glossy, more stunning IRL!
Red is the colour... of a Revlon nailpolish 680 Revlon Red
This was in one of those GWP packs, and I must say I really like it. It's not dull, and makes me smile. I don't wear it all the time, as I like to change often, but when I do wear it... ah, it shines! Hahaha
Red is the colour... of my Clarins Pure Curl Mascara in 01 (Black)
This is another non-waterproof mascara and I am pleased with it so far. It doesn't clump, and nice scent (none of those yucky chemical petrol-like whatever smell) and such a nice bottle, matte finish, satin feel. I got this quite cheap at AUD$15 from Amcal, Garden City. Bargain!!
Red is the colour of... my new face moisturiser SkinMD Shielding Lotion
Note: I was sent this item by the company to test and review. I've only used it a couple of times, hence it is not time yet for me to do a review on it. But please do wait a little longer until I can truly justify my opinions on it after many usage.
Red is the colour.... of my Dissecting Kit zip-up pouch
I know, this is so non-makeup, non-skincare product... but this has memories in those days when I had Anatomy pracs, doing dissection for educational purpose.
Hmm... so now I shall tag YELLOW ^^ to:
and to all of you who wants to do this tag, just comment below or post it in your blog =)
And omg, can't believe I left this item out!! It is no other than my beloved Lucas' Papaw Ointment!! Yes, it's RED!!! ^^v
My dearest is old and battered and been so loyal to me all these months... I think I must've had it for over a year and still going...
Ok, there, I hope I haven't really missed out on anything else red !
February 2, 2010
Nicole did a January Favorites and thought I'd do one...
Lush Vanilla in the Mist - my first soap from Lush and I like it. It's one of their New for 2010 products. It feels clean, gets very foamy, and smells yummy! It has coffee, vanilla, honey... hmm... it's like maple syrup on waffles... or something. Makes my shower so much more inviting and enjoyable.
Missha Perfect Brush Cleaner - easy clean with this brush cleaner. I just squirt some on tissue papers and swipe my brushes and they're ready to use! Plus, it gives a sweet scent, which I don't mind. Better than an ethanol or stinky scent, anyway.
Makeup Remover Wipes - too easy! Especially for those days when you're feeling lazy and just swipe this, and I'm off to bed hahaha... not really, but just means that it's quick and easy. Carry it around too, for emergencies. I have 3 at the moment, 1 in my gym bag, 1 a Neutrogena one (only purchased recently), and 1 Japanese one in a box (a gift).
Lip Glosserie Lip Balm - They smell nice, doesn't taste yuck, and moisturises your lips. Comes in cute little clear tube, easy application, no mess, no fuss. Check out LipGlosserie on Etsy. Jinny is real sweet ;)
Coffret D'Or Mascara Base - makes anything, any mascara I put on, mess-free, clump-free, smudge-free, and lasts all day. What more can I say. This rules out the "only waterproof mascara works for me" idea. I can use non-waterproof mascaras now using this mascara base and my eyelashes would still stay curled.
Pupa Baked Eyeshadow Natural Eyes in 01 - I had a break from this eyeshadow for months and months, and only recently got back into it and loves it. It works as eyebrow highlighter, inner corner highlight, cheek highlight if required, and works as an all over eye shadow. Gives me a nice subtle, natural eyes, that are awake and fresh. Buildable.
Stila Convertible in Peony - I almost gave this away when I first got it. I'm so glad I didn't. I gave this product a second, or if not, third chance, and finally fell in love with it. I can use it as a lipstick and it's a really nice colour on my lips... and I use it as blush base and it works! I use this then apply my powder blush and it lasts all day! I like it. Multi-purpose, easy to just pop this in your bag and you're ready to go, just in case you don't have time to put on blush and lipstick.
Sportsgirl Shimmer Pot - I named this colour Champagne Pink, because of the colour. I also love this as an easy, all over eye shadow. It's just nice. Smooth, pigmented and nice.
Everyday Minerals Products - Blush in Email Me, Foundation in Light Medium (Original Glo). I've just been constantly impressed by Everyday Minerals. So far, impressed by the foundation, and the blush. And the brushes! Flat top ~ I looovvee...
Ecotools Powder Brush - Massive brush to apply finishing powder. Super super soft!! Like it. Doesn't shed. No funny smell. I like it. Don't have any other brush like it.
Jemma Brush - Random find. Quite like it. I use this to apply my Stila Cream Blush (Convertible)... or I can also use this as foundation brush if needed. No streaking, and nice size.
Apart from those brushes, I still love my Everyday Minerals Flat Top, Sportsgirl Blush Brush, Sportsgirl Eyeshadow All-over Brush.
Alrighty, now it's your turn! What are your January Favourites? ;) Do a post , or comment below.
